Latest Updates - As of 9-20-07
-As of right now there will only be one motorcycle to lead the group but I'm working on two.
-Start/Finish line has been moved closer to parking area where electricity is more easily accessible.
-Podium has been completed and backdrop will have WiSport World's on it for cool photo ops to commemorate the event.
-Coffee has been secured and will be hot and available throughout the day. We are working on other items such as bagels, peanut butter, doughnuts, bananas and possibly some other fruit or snack. Items will either be free or for a small fee.
-TT will be open to non-WiSport members but their participation will not count towards any prizes. Next year possibly but all prizes and awards will be given to qualifying WiSport members. (Trying to add another means to fund the event as it doesn't seem like members are registering like I'd hoped.)
-A tent area will be on site stocked with many old used cycling clothing to be had for cheap. (Mark's trying to sell down some of the many clothing items he's accumulated over the years!) Proceeds will go to help pay for event.
-Concessions will be on site provided by our local Coca-Cola bottling company. Water, PowerAde and other Coke products will be there free of cost or at a reduced price to participants. We hope to have some other food type items for sale for your convenience.
-Gravel stretch on start/finish area has been swept by county. It's like new once again!
-Chip Timing has been hired (itiming.com). Please register and participate so I don't lose my shirt! They aren't cheap!
-No Jersey awarded to winners. Instead, CNC Machined Trophy (Very cool & original) will be awarded to top male and female finishers in ITT and RR. Gold, Silver and Bronze CNC machined and engraved medals to age group winners.
-BYOB & BYOF for impromptu party at my house from final awards ceremony to whenever. I'll provide pop, water, and some basic food from the grill. Bring extras for yourself and to pass if you'd like.
-Blank Hill Road (major climb) will not be closed like originally planned. There will be plenty of signage but the entire course will be open to traffic so it's up to you to ride safely and not cut into on-coming traffic where possible.
-There will be a lead vehicle (motorcycle) to pace the front of the group.
-We plan on having a sag wagon for those who have had enough and do not want to continue for whatever reason.
-We plan on having a neutral wheel vehicle with spare wheels for anyone who flats in the lead group. Once your wheel is changed it will help pace you back to the lead group, provided you can make it back in a reasonable amount of time. Go like heck and try to get back on!
-I'm hoping to offer neutral water feeds both in the wheel car as well as on a motorcycle or possible feed zone at the top of the hill. Still working on this. If the weather is hot it will happen for sure.
-Water and PowerAde will be provided to participants until it is gone free of cost.
-Limited number of WiSport World T-Shirts available for $20 each and if we run out I'll take orders for you and will send them out.
-Two port-a-potties will be on site along with a hand washing station. There will be a bike rack next to each so you can park your bicycle as you wait in line or do your thing.
-After the race there will be a clean, wet rag barrel (like Firehouse 50) which you can use to freshen up.
